ONVIF Server

ONVIF is an open industry forum that provides and promotes standardized interfaces

ONVIF is an open industry forum that provides and promotes standardized interfaces for effective interoperability of IP-based physical security products.

Profile S is designed for IP-based video systems. A Profile S device (e.g., an IP network camera or video encoder) is one that can send video data over an IP network to a Profile S client. A Profile S client (e.g., a video management software) is one that can configure, request, and control video streaming over an IP network from a Profile S device. Profile S also covers ONVIF specifications for PTZ control, audio in, multicasting and relay outputs for conformant devices and clients that support such features.

Ridgerun offers a solution that can turn any Linux device into an ONVIF Profile S compliant device. Its core is based on GStreamer using GStreamer daemon and its modularity allows the user to easily add new features. It is intended to provide ONVIF support easily reducing time to market and helping our customers to avoid investing time on dealing with the ONVIF specification implementation.

In its current version, only a reduced set of requests of the media and device services are supported in a way that allows the user to have a working stream out of the box. New services and requests can be added based on the customer's needs.
